Doug Middleton Jerseys Wholesale China

The position of safety is rarely a high priority in the NFL. They are seldom high draft choices. In fact, you could say you don’t really need a safety until you need one. The safeties on the Jaguars roster are Authentic Ronnie Harrison Jersey, Authentic Josh Jones Jersey, Authentic Doug Middleton Jersey, and Authentic Jarrod Wilson Jersey. Cody Davis became a free agent this week.

While it is not as big a need for the Jaguars, there is a need for depth and better play on the backline.

This appears to be one of the few areas on the Jaguars’ defense without a glaring need. Both Harrison and Wilson are under contract and appear likely to start next season, and Davis is a front-line special teams player,” John Oehser of wrote. “While the Jaguars could address depth here, it would be a surprise if they drafted the spot early or signed a premier free agent.”

The Jaguars must determine how their current group of safeties fit what the defense will do in 2020.

This is a tricky spot for the Jaguars; as is the case at offensive line, the Jaguars are good here – but not yet great,” Oehser continues. “Wilson and Harrison are starting-level players, but neither played at a difference-making level last season. Harrison has big-time ability but has been inconsistent; he flashed at times with some impact plays but – like multiple players in the Jaguars’ back seven – had some untimely errors that led to big plays.”

The top safety in the draft this year is Xavier McKinney from Alabama. He is 6’ tall and weighs 201 pounds. His draft grade of 6.38 indicates that he will be a starter within the first two years. He ran a 4.63 40-yard dash. He is projected as a late first or early second-round draft choice by most sites. McKinney began his career at Alabama as a backup and special teams member. He started in 2018 and 2019 and was first-team All-SEC in 2019. In 2019 he had 95 tackles, three sacks, four forced fumbles, and three interceptions.

McKinney is one player who appears to be rising on many draft boards at the right time and could offer the team another Crimson Tide player who could solidify the secondary even more.

Wholesale Joe Schobert Jaguars Jersey Sale Authentic

A few former Wisconsin Badgers found (either reportedly or officially) new homes in the NFL within the past two weeks.

On March 19, Jacksonville officially announced that linebacker Authentic Joe Schobert Jersey had “agreed to terms to a five-year contract.”

Originally a fourth-round selection by the Cleveland Browns in the 2016 NFL Draft, Schobert emerged to become one of the league’s leading tacklers. According to’s stats, the linebacker has recorded 100 or more tackles in the past three seasons.

In 2019, his 133 stops ranked 10th in the NFL. Two seasons prior to that as a second-year player, he finished tied for first along with Green Bay’s Blake Martinez and Buffalo’s Preston Brown with 144.

Last season, he also recorded a career-high four interceptions. caught up with Schobert last week regarding his new professional home in the AFC South. Now, we caught up with JaguarReport’s John Shipley to discuss how the former Big Ten linebacker of the year fits with Jacksonville.
What were your overall impressions of the signing?

Shipley: The Jaguars badly needed a veteran inside linebacker after Myles Jack, who played the spot the last two seasons, regressed in a big way in 2019. Schobert maybe isn’t the run-stuffer the Jaguars really needed, but he is great in coverage and at creating takeaways and is, at worst, a serviceable starter. This was their best offseason signing because Schobert brings consistency as well as allows Jack to move to weak-side linebacker, a better fit for his skills.
Schobert will plug in at middle linebacker. What roles are required within Jacksonville’s defense, and how do you feel the former Badger can fulfill them?

Shipley: Ultimately the middle linebacker is vital in the Jaguars’ 4-3 defense. Not only does the linebacker have to cover a lot of ground vs. the run and the pass, but the player at the position typically wears the green dot for the Jaguars, which means he is the one who relays the play calls from the sideline and helps line the defense up. Schobert has the athleticism to thrive in the Jaguars’ run and chase run defensive scheme, while his range in coverage makes him a valuable piece in defending the middle of the field.
Where do you feel he can positively impact the Jaguars, and vice versa, any concerns about the signing?

Shipley: The Jaguars’ issues at linebacker last season were rampant. Players struggled to get lined up pre-snap or adjust post-snap, and it seemed like there was too much thinking and too little attacking. Schobert should be able to help the Jaguars simply by being a consistent and steady presence in the middle of the defense who does his job and doesn’t try to cover for too many others mistakes. The only real concern with the Schobert signing is his issues vs. the run at times and the Jaguars’ lack of big bodies on the defensive line in front of him, but his strengths should offset this
Lastly, does the signing affect another former Badger, Leon Jacobs, at the linebacker spots?

Shipley: The Jaguars’ staff is really big on Leon Jacobs, which makes sense considering how much he improved in 2019. Luckily for him, he plays strongside linebacker in the Jaguars’ base defense, so Schobert won’t be taking any snaps away from Jacobs. If anything, Jacobs’ role may increase next season.

Wholesale China Dakota Allen NFL Jerseys On Sale

According to Captain Mike Bauer, a Norfolk Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding and for striking the curb two times with its passenger tires.

The driver was identified as 24-year-old Dakota Allen.

During this contact the officer could smell the odor of alcohol and see an open container of beer in the center console.

Allen was requested to perform field sobriety maneuvers and submit to a preliminary breath test, and the results showed impairment.

He was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense. In a subsequent search of him, officer recovered THC wax and one Xanax pill which he did not have a prescription for.

He was then also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.

Entering this offseason, Schobert made a lot of sense as a name to connect to the Jaguars due to his experience (49 starts) over four seasons with the Cleveland Browns. In Schobert’s time in Cleveland, he recorded 408 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, six interceptions, and a staggering seven forced fumbles, along with 20 pass deflections. He is a steady playmaker and a capable prescence inside, all traits that would fit the Jaguars’ needs at the second level of the defense.

In 2019, Schobert started 16 games and totaled 133 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and nine pass deflections.

With Schobert in the fold, the Jaguars now have two linebackers who are making more than $10 million annually. Fifth-year linebacker Myles Jack, another member of the 2016 NFL Draft class, signed a four-year, $57 million contract with the Jaguars before the 2019 season began, making him one of the league’s highest-paid linebackers.

Jack struggled at middle linebacker in 2019, making it sensible for the Jaguars to slide Schobert into the middle of the defense and move Jack to weakside linebacker. The Jaguars had serious issues at each linebacker spot in 2019, so the Schobert signing could be a way to improve two different positions.

“I think we will adjust not only that position, but I think we will address every position and if it is not through free agency, it is the draft. If we can get better, we will try and get better,” general manager Dave Caldwell said Tuesday at the NFL Scouting Combine.

“We have two guys there that we like in Myles [Jack] and Quincy [Williams]. Authentic Dakota Allen Jersey is another guy we feel can come in, we got him from the Rams late in the year. He is a physical guy, he did a nice job on special teams. We actually have four guys there plus Leon Jacobs as our SAM. We have some depth there that we have not had in the past. If we can get a guy to come in and if we need to move Myles … Myles offers so much flexibility, whether it’s MIKE, WILL, he played SAM in 2017. We feel good about that. “

China Wholesale Jaugars Rodney Gunter Jerseys On Sale

With Marcel Dareus officially an unrestricted free agent, the Jaguars reportedly agreed to terms with defensive tackle Authentic Rodney Gunter Jersey on Wednesday evening.

A fourth-round selection of the Cardinals in 2015, Gunter has appeared in 77 games, including 13 in 2019. He owns 11 career sacks and 86 solo tackles — including a career high 44 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles through 16 games and 10 starts in 2018.

He suffered a toe injury that forced him to miss the remainder of the 2019 season on December 10. Gunter played on a one-year, $1.75 million deal in 2019.

The deal will be finalized pending a physical.

According to the NFL, clubs may not bring any FA player to a club facility or other location to meet with club personnel during this time. Club personnel, including members of the team’s medical staff, may not travel to any location to meet with or conduct a medical examination of a FA player.

There were just a handful of technical speed-bumps. No phone calls or major interruptions were had.

“We are doing everything we can, making sure that there is distance and all of the things that people are advising us to do,” Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone assured reporters. “I want to go in and get that cup of coffee and go behind my desk, turn on my computer, start watching film. Now, I’m watching it from home and the dog will be barking or someone will be knocking on the door.”

While the serious change in the global landscape was discussed — including the potential of a delay in the NFL season — Marrone maintained that, whenever the season does begin, he and his team must be ready. That’s the focus right now.

“I think the worst thing that could happen is they say, ‘Ready, let’s go,’ and you’re not prepared,” the fourth-year head coach said. “So I’m really taking it day-by-day like everyone else, reminding myself how serious this is, you know, what we have going, knowing that takes priority over a season of sports …but more importantly we’ve got to rally around.”

If and when there is a 2020 season, Marrone will be rallying around one of the youngest rosters in the NFL — something he admitted during the teleconference.

“Everyone knows we have a lot of picks [in the NFL Draft],” Marrone said. The Jaguars currently have 12 selections in the 2020 Draft, which is still scheduled for April 23-25. “We’ll have a young football team which, like anything else, there’s a lot of positive to that. A bunch of hungry guys coming in here. A lot of enthusiasm. A lot of guys trying to work.”

After the Jaguars relieved Executive Vice President of Football Operations Tom Coughlin of his duties in December, Jaguars owner Shad Khan noted that personnel decisions would now fall to Marrone and general manager Dave Caldwell. In a sense, aside from the NFL Scouting Combine, this was the first time the media truly got to hear Marrone’s “vision” for constructing his 2020 roster. Two big themes emerged:

  1. “Not a lot of drama”
  2. Building a “tough, strong football team,” particularly “up the middle”

“I think when you’re looking at those three players that we brought in, they’re solid guys, they’re solid football players, they bring some versatility, but the main thing is, like I said before, our priority was making sure we brought people in to stop the run,” Marrone said of free agent acquisitions Al Woods, Cassius Marsh and Rodney Gunter. Gunter and Woods are both interior defensive linemen. The Jaguars gave up 200+ yards on the ground four times during the second-half of the 2019 season.

Part of shoring up “the middle” included signing former Cleveland Browns linebacker Joe Schobert. Schobert will play middle linebacker, with fifth-year Jaguar Myles Jack transitioning to the “Will” or weak-side linebacker. Marrone said Jack is “excited” for the move and his new teammate.

“Myles Jack is able to play really all three positions and play them all we feel at a high level. When it showed itself that we could get a player with the caliber of [Joe] Schobert, we went along and did that. We feel that we bettered ourselves at two positions.”

In terms of fulfilling his first goal — “not a lot of drama” — the Jaguars have had trouble escaping that this off-season, as lingering contract negotiations with defensive end Yannick Ngakoue have led to a social media outburst from the 2017 Pro Bowler. Tuesday morning, prior to Marrone’s address, Ngakoue fired off on social media once more, saying it was time for both his camp and the Jaguars to “move on.” Marrone note that contracts negotiations fall under Caldwell’s responsibilities, but did offer this:

“As a coach you always want your players to be happy. You want the best for your players. From that standpoint, I understand the challenges that are going on for Yann…. It’s just tough, it really is, especially with a player that has done everything we’ve asked. I’m hoping that somewhere down the line we can get this situation resolved.”

On the offensive side of the ball, Marrone gave a firm “no” when asked if the Jaguars had enough play-makers on their roster. They only signed one offensive player in free agency: tight end Tyler Eifert, who Marrone did praise as a “three-down tight end” who he has watched for quite some time.

“We’re always trying to find more weapons whether it be on the outside, whether it be on the backfield or at the tight end position or whether it’s someone that is going to push the offensive line,” Marrone said.

“I don’t know that I’ve ever heard said, ‘Oh my gosh, we have enough.’ It’s one of those things that you never have enough. It’s like chocolate chip cookies. There’s never enough in the house for me.”

We’ll see how many cookies the Jaguars take from the offensive cookie jar in this April’s Draft. The Draft will be broadcast on ABC25 beginning Thursday, April 23.

Hang it all! The Broadway premiere of Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen, which began preview performances at the Golden Theatre on February 28, 2020, has now officially closed and will no longer resume performances when Broadway theaters re-open following the current lockdown.

The production played a total of 13 preview performances and was scheduled for an official opening on March 19 and a limited engagement through July 18, 2020.

Producers Robert Fox, Jean Doumanian, Elizabeth I. McCann and Craig Balsam released the following joing statement: “Because of the current health crisis which has created circumstances beyond our control, it is with deep regret that we are not able to resume performances of Hangmen. With no definite end in sight of the government’s closure and Broadway’s suspension, we have no alternative but to release the actors from their contracts and close the production. Given our show’s budget and capitalization, we do not have the economic resources to be able to continue to pay the theater owners, cast and crew through this still undefined closure period. Therefore, in the interests of all involved, we regretfully have no choice but to close the show. We are all extremely disappointed that we cannot give Martin McDonagh and our fabulous director, cast and team the celebrated opening they all deserve.”

Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre in London in September 2015, quickly transferring to the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre in December 2015, winning ‘Best New Play’ and ‘Best Set Design’ at the 2016 Olivier Awards. The play’s Off-Broadway premiere was presented by Atlantic Theater Company from January through March 2018.

Synopsis: “England 1965 – What is Britain’s (second most) famous executioner to do now that hanging has been abolished? The simple answer is a lot more than he bargained for. In his small pub in the northern English town of Oldham, Harry is something of a local celebrity and the cub reporters and pub regulars are dying to hear Harry’s reaction to the news, while his old assistant Syd and the mysterious Mooney lurk with very different motives for their visit.”

The Broadway cast of Hangmen included (in alphabetical order) Olivier Award nominee Mark Addy (as Harry), two-time Olivier Award winner Tracie Bennett (as Alice), Ewen Bremner (as Syd), Owen Campbell (as Clegg), Jeremy Crutchley (as Inspector Fry), Gaby French (as Shirley), Josh Goulding (as Hennessy), Olivier Award nominee John Hodgkinson (as Pierrepoint), Richard Hollis (as Bill), John Horton (as Arthur), Authentic Ryan Pope Jersey (as Charlie), and Dan Stevens (as Mooney).

The creative team behind Hangmen on Broadway featured scenic & costume design by Olivier Award winner Anna Fleischle, lighting design by Joshua Carr and sound design by Olivier Award winner Ian Dickinson.

Mr. McDonagh is perhaps best known for his screenplays of the hit films “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” “Seven Psychopaths,” and “In Bruges.” In addition, he has earned four Tony Award nominations – for The Lieutenant of Inishmore (2006), The Pillowman (2005), The Lonesome West (1999), and The Beauty Queen of Leenane (1998). His most recent Broadway credits include 2014’s The Cripple of Inishmaan and 2010’s A Behanding in Spokane, and, across the pond, he has won a total of three Olivier Awards, including ‘Best New Play’ for Hangmen in 2016.

Authentic Tyler Gauthier Jersey Wholesale China 2021

The Jacksonville Jaguars have added two players to their active roster, signing rookie LB Dakota Allen off the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad and rookie C Authentic Tyler Gauthier Jersey off New England’s practice squad, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars placed LB Jake Ryan (hamstring) and OL Brandon Thomas (knee) on the team’s reserve/injured list.

Allen, 6-1, 232, was originally selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round (251st overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. After being waived by the Rams, he spent time on Oakland’s active roster, appearing in two games, before being waived by the Raiders on Oct. 31. Allen was signed to the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad on Nov. 4, 2019. Allen played in 48 games during his collegiate career at Texas Tech and East Mississippi Community College (36 at Texas Tech, 12 at EMCC). As a senior at Texas Tech in 2018, he was named a team captain for the second consecutive season and started 11 games, totaling 73 tackles (33 solo).

Gauthier (pronounced GOTH-year), 6-5, 305, was originally signed by New England as a rookie free agent on May 2, 2019 and was signed to the Patriots’ practice squad on Oct. 15. He played collegiately at the University of Miami (Fla.) and was a three-year starter on the OL, finishing his career with 29 consecutive starts, including 25 at center. As a senior in 2018, Gauthier started all 13 games at center. A native of Venice, Fla., he earned first-team All-State honors at Venice High School helping the team to a regional semifinal berth.

It actually has something to do with the administrative side of things.

“To be named the next President of RAMBA is incredibly humbling, and I take it with a lot of pride,” said Tyler Gauthier, the new RAMBA President.

Gauthier, who calls himself a grassroots member, has been with the group since the first Wednesday night ride.

“Danny Hill and others took me in their arms, showed me what mountain biking is all about, and from that moment up, I knew I was going to be a part of this group,” he explained.

Now, roughly 15 years later, Gauthier is serving RAMBA Trails as President.

“I want to continue to just represent our users and members. We have an incredible trail system out there that needs a lot of attention. It needs continued maintenance and building, so I want to continue to bring that opportunity to our members and users.”

Former RAMBA President Danny Hill, who served for more than 30 years, believes Gauthier will be able to achieve his goal.

Wholesale Authentic Jaguars Tyler Eifert China Sale

While Authentic Tyler Eifert Jersey former Cincinnati Bengals teammate Darqueze Dennard had his deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars fall through before he could put pen to paper, the veteran tight end won’t fall into the same category.

Instead, Eifert officially signed his two-year contract with the Jaguars on Monday, the team announced. The contract is worth a maximum of $15.5 million, and the eighth-year tight end will be expected to step in right away and contribute to a young Jaguars’ offense.

“Tyler is a proven contributor in this league, and we’re excited to add him to our team,” Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said in a statement when the team first announced he had agreed to terms on March 25.

“He has shown the ability to be a playmaker in the passing game, especially in the red zone, while also adding immense value as a blocker in the run game. I expect him to make us more efficient and productive on the offensive side of the ball, and after speaking with Tyler, I know he’s eager for this opportunity,” Marrone said.

Eifert has played in 59 games with 37 starts during his seven seasons in Cincinnati, where he was originally drafted in the first round (No. 21 overall) in 2013. His career stats include 185 receptions for 2,152 yards and 24 TDs.

In 2019, Eifert played 16-games for the first time in his career, doing his part to shed the injury-prone label that has followed him throughout his career. Last season, he caught 43 receptions for 436 yards and three touchdowns.

Eifert will join Josh Oliver, James O’Shaughnessy, and Authentic Charles Jones Jersey as the current active tight ends on the Jaguars’ roster.

By signing with Jacksonville, Eifert has reunited with his first-ever NFL offensive coordinator in Jay Gruden, who was hired to be the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator earlier this offseason. Gruden was the Bengals’ offensive coordinator in Eifert’s rookie season in 2013 and Gruden’s one year with Eifert, the tight end recorded 39 receptions for 445 yards and two touchdowns.

In an appearance on Jaguars Happy Hour last week, Marrone spoke more about what he thinks his newest veteran tight end will provide to the roster. Eifert is instantly the most established and experienced tight end on the roster, and it is clearly the hope that he can use that veteran savvy to contributed in 2020.

“He’s a veteran player who has done a very good job,” Marrone said of Eifert. “He can stretch the field vertically. He can make the tough catches. He has that vet savvy to him where he can use his body and his hands to get himself open.

“He’s a really good route-runner with a good route tree and that’s obviously going to help us.”

wholesale Authentic Nike Devine Ozigbo Jerseys 2021

ebraska quarterbacks coach Mario Verduzco’s Class of 2022 quarterback evaluations are continuing, and the offers keep coming.

On Monday, the Huskers extended a scholarship offer to Texas signal-caller Alex Orji.

Orji is listed at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds and transferred to Sachse High after attending Bishop Dunne for his first two years of college. NU is familiar with both, as running back Authentic Devine Ozigbo Jersey came from Sachse and defensive linemen Damion and Darrion Daniels from Bishop Dunne.

Orji is the third known 2022 quarterback to pick up an offer from Verduzco in the past four days, joining Steve Angeli (Oradell, New Jersey) and Nicco Marichol (Chandler, Arizona).

Huskers in top six for DT: Nebraska is the lone school outside the SEC to crack the top six for 2021 defensive tackle Anquin Barnes.

The 6-5, 300-pounder from Robert E. Lee High in Montgomery, Alabama, included the Huskers among a top group that also includes Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.

Barnes has not yet been to Lincoln on a visit, but it would be a big win for the Huskers if they can get him to Lincoln once recruiting restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic have been eased.

Typically, NU defensive coordinator Erik Chinander leads the Huskers’ efforts in Alabama and the program has had success there recently, landing defenders like Cam Taylor-Britt (2018), Jamin Graham (2019) and Jimari Butler (2020).

Woods a consensus four-star: Omaha Central Class of 2022 offensive lineman Deshawn Woods on Monday was named a four-star prospect by Rivals.

That comes one week after he earned four-star status by 247Sports, as well.

Rivals is rolling its 2022 class out over the course of the week, so Woods’ exact placement isn’t yet known, but clearly the young offensive lineman’s stock is pointing up.

Wholesale Authentic Nike Jaguars Joshua Dobbs Jersey 2020

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Jacksonville Jaguars are trying to mitigate one of the costliest mistakes in franchise history. The Chicago Bears could benefit from the purge.

The Jaguars agreed Wednesday to trade quarterback Nick Foles to the Bears for a compensatory fourth-round draft pick, according to a person familiar with the transaction. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade was not yet official.

The Jaguars are dumping Foles a little more than a year after giving the 2018 Super Bowl MVP a four-year, $88 million contract that included a whopping $50.125 million guaranteed.

The Bears are getting a veteran starter to compete with Mitchell Trubisky, who struggled in his third season. They are expected to rework Foles’ contract, which has three years remaining.

Foles is due to make $15.125 million in 2020 and would have counted $21.837 million against Jacksonville’s salary cap. Dealing him will still be costly for the Jaguars — they will take on $18.75 million in dead money this fall — but it will free up about $35 million over the next two years. Jacksonville saves a little more than $3 million in 2020 by trading him.

The Jaguars are in full rebuild mode after their 10th losing season in the last 12 years. Last March, owner Shad Khan, general manager Dave Caldwell and coach Doug Marrone raved about Foles and what it meant to finally have a franchise quarterback after a decades-long search that saw Jacksonville try Byron Leftwich, David Garrard, Blaine Gabbert, Chad Henne and Blake Bortles.

But the 31-year-old Foles ended up being the latest bust in Jacksonville. He broke his left collarbone early in the season opener, missed the next eight games and then got benched in his third game back.

Rookie Gardner Minshew, a sixth-round draft pick from Washington State, played well enough in Foles’ absence to make Caldwell and Marrone believe he’s got more upside moving forward. It also made Foles expendable.

Jacksonville had been willing to keep Foles as a high-priced backup. But a wild carousel of QB moves to open free agency — Philip Rivers to Indianapolis, Tom Brady reportedly to Tampa Bay and Teddy Bridgewater to Carolina — created a market for Foles.

Now, he heads to the Windy City.

Bears general manager Ryan Pace has made it clear the team is committed to Trubisky despite his regression in 2019. Pace largely tied his reputation to Trubisky by trading up a spot with San Francisco to draft him with the No. 2 overall pick in 2017, ahead of Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes and Houston’s Deshaun Watson. While Mahomes and Watson have emerged as two of the best quarterbacks in the league, Trubisky has mixed some promising flashes with poor decisions and even worse throws.

The Bears were hoping he would take a big step forward last season — his second in coach Matt Nagy’s system — but that did not happen. His yards (3,138), completion rate (63.2%), touchdowns (17) and rating (83) all dropped from the previous year.

Foles, meanwhile, completed 77 of 117 passes for 736 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in four games last season. He also ran four times for 23 yards and lost two fumbles.

He was the most coveted free-agent quarterback on the market in 2019 after leading Philadelphia to four playoff victories over two seasons, including the franchise’s first NFL title since 1960. He earned 2018 Super Bowl MVP honors and a season later made himself the league’s top QB commodity.

Jacksonville will turn to Minshew for the foreseeable future. Authentic Joshua Dobbs Jersey will serve as Jacksonville’s backup. The Jags traded a fifth-round pick to Pittsburgh last September for Dobbs.

Still, Caldwell and Marrone will forever be saddled with badly botching Jacksonville’s quarterback situation in consecutive years.

With former top executive Tom Coughlin calling the shots, the Jaguars paid Bortles a three-year, $58 million contract in February 2018. The deal included $26.5 million guaranteed and cost the Jags $16.5 million in dead money last year. It was the highest dead-money cap hit in NFL history.

The Jaguars topped that by trading Foles and raised their two-year total for paying quarterbacks to not play for them to $35.25 million.

That kind of fiscal squandering essentially forced Jacksonville to part with several defensive veterans over the last two years, including cutting safety Tashaun Gipson, defensive tackle Malik Jackson and defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, and trading cornerback A.J. Bouye and defensive end Calais Campbell.

The upside for Jacksonville: Caldwell and Marrone now have 12 picks in the upcoming draft, including seven in the first four rounds.

Three Jacksonville Jaguars – Calais Campbell, Jalen Ramsey, and Yannick Ngakoue – were named to CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco’s top 100 NFL list.
The Jacksonville Jaguars defense gets some more love this offseason.

In his recent list of the top 100 players in the NFL, Pete Prisco of has included three Jaguars players, all who should make an impact on this season. It’s a list he said isn’t easy to compile because of the talent in the NFL.

“So dive in, look around, complain, moan and groan – I expect all of it – but putting together a list like this isn’t easy,” Prisco writes. Good players get left out because we have an abundance of them in the NFL right now and there is a giant middle class after the 25 or so dominant group of stars.”

Jaguars CB Jalen Ramsey Won’t Receive Contract Extension This Season
The former Jaguars beat writer here in Jacksonville turned NFL analyst listed defensive end Calais Campbell 17th on his list. Jalen Ramsey, the Jaguars controversial cornerback and arguably the best player on the roster, comes in at No. 33. Yannick Ngakoue, who is seeking a new deal from the team in the final season of his rookie deal, comes in at No. 71. The Jaguars can ill afford the edge rusher to hold out or miss time this season because of a financial distraction.

“He has 29.5 sacks in his first three seasons and had 9.5 a year ago,” Prisco writes about Ngakoue, who was a third-round pick out of Maryland in 2016. “It’s no wonder he’s looking for a big contract.”

Ngakoue and Campbell form one of the best pass-rushing duos in the NFL. The Jaguars also added Kentucky edge rusher John Allen to the mix this season with the seventh pick in the NFL Draft this past April.

Campbell has been the undisputed leader of this defense since he signed a free-agent deal with Jacksonville in the free agency in 2017. At 32 years old, he is finding a rhythm many players his age are still searching for. The defensive scheme designed by coordinator Todd Wash plays to Campbell’s strengths and has allowed him to have his two best seasons of his career in Black and Teal.

Prisco thinks that despite a dip in the overall performance of the defense in 2018, Campbell still played at an ultra-high level.

“His sack numbers went down some, but he was better last year than he was in 2017 when he got Defensive Player of the Year consideration,” he added.

The ranking of Ramsey is a bit of a question given his talent level and how he plays against top-level talent. The former 2016 first-round draft pick (in the same class with Ngakoue), made the Pro Bowl for a second consecutive season in 2018. The Jaguars have already announced they will pick up his fifth-year option in 2020 that will pay him $13.7 million.

“He wasn’t as dominant as expected last season, but I see him bouncing back in a big way. The talent is there to be the best in the league,” Prisco wrote.

The three players helped the Jaguars finish fifth in the NFL in total defense last season.
